These projects support executive and program priorities, institutional change, and public understanding of the institutions I serve.  My role varies from strategic lead to hands-on contributor, depending on scope and need.

Internal

Internal Communications

I lead internal communications strategy to support alignment, change, and decision-making, including:

  • Centralized communication platforms

  • Executive briefing documents, scriptwriting, and presentations

  • Email communications, including sensitive and high-level correspondence

  • Policy initiatives and administrative updates

  • Newsletter campaigns, announcements, and intranet content for alignment and connection

  • Internal events to support organizational goals and promote key initiatives

  • KPI and data analysis to optimize messaging and delivery channels

Faculty Training Intranet

As research activity grew at SJSU, leadership identified the need for more consistent, secure communication. I owned the development of this faculty intranet for streamlined, centralized, on-demand guidance.  Learn More

Executive Briefings and Bespoke External Communications

Working with leadership to set content and priorities, I collaborate across units to produce concise, visually focused communications that support clear, actionable decision-making by executive leaders and corporate and government partners (redacted).

I scripted and produced San José State University’s 2024 Celebration of Research video with a campus videographer, showcasing faculty and student achievements and connecting programs to broader institutional impact.

Custom Collateral

I lead the development of strategic collateral for special projects, including alumni gatherings and government and industry partnerships. Pieces are created collaboratively with unit leads to align messaging and advance specific goals.

Putting Our Best Foot Forward

As program manager for nationally-ranked graduate programs in Film and Digital Media, I partnered with the City of Santa Cruz, private vendors, and university teams on an annual thesis film screening for over 200 community members and stakeholders. (Program)​

Creating Public Buy-In

Clear, accessible storytelling around academic research is essential to building public understanding and support. I led the development of posters for the UCSC Anthropology Department to spark public interest and strengthen program visibility. (More)

With an engagement rate up to three times the industry average, I have grown the SJSU Research and Innovation LinkedIn account 236% in less than two years. I steward daily storytelling for SJSU research, reaching an audience of thousands across platforms.

To best meet our audience, I started an Instagram account specifically to reach students. In just over a year, we've gained 2000 followers, and counting.

During a time of some research precarity, engaged storytelling about our mission and goals became essential. I led a home page redesign as part of this effort. Visit www.sjsu.edu/research.
